Talking about food security, Kofi Annan said “Achieving global food and nutrition security is the a dangerous delay.jpgchallenge of our time, and our success in alleviating widespread hunger will depend, in large part, on our ability to identify the early warning signs of food crises, and respond immediately and effectively.

Hunger is often a failure of leadership. The looming crisis in the Sahel is indicative of the pressing need to develop effective early warning systems, and doing so will require strong leadership from and cooperation among our governments and politicians.”
